INTRODUCTION

I became a counselor after many years of searching how best to help people. I have always wanted to help people and did not realize how many ways there are do so. My father passed away very suddenly about 15 years ago. I was having trouble processing this loss, so I decided to get help. I met my first therapist, and he helped me process my loss and then proceeded to help me process other things I had been struggling with. He gave me the confidence, the foundation, and the ability to believe in myself to figure out what I wanted in life. I was able to obtain a better paying job, go back to school, become a better mother and wife. He really helped me turn my life around.

BACKGROUND

My educational background is in Psychology, Sociology and Mental Health Counseling. I have worked with people of all ages and walks of life in both private counseling practices and inpatient mental health recovery centers. I recently worked at Three Rivers Behavioral Health where I guided the Psych Intensive Outpatient Program (Psych IOP) group. I also worked with the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), the Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP), and the Trauma Partial Hospitalization Program (Trauma PHP). I am experienced working with people who deal with major mental illness, substance abuse, and trauma.
